Oh So Sweet!

There are countless ways you can design your cake whether its color, shape, size, taste, or theme. Regardless, I hope this post can help you design your dream wedding cake!

There are so many different styles that you can create your wedding cake. Whether you chose fondant, butter cream, fresh fruit, henna designs- the possibilities are truly endless. The three main things you really need to initially decide on is the theme, color, and size. Always keep in mind your final wedding count. Why? Typically, most vendors will charge to cut and serve the cake so make sure you do not over estimate the size of your wedding cake. I mean, why pay more?

Once you have the size down then the fun part begins! Try to design a cake that really describes you as a couple. Something that truly screams, “This is us” whether it’s by the design or flavor. As you must know, the new wedding cake is not a cake anymore, but rather a cupcake! I really believe having a cupcake screams versatility. You can get so many different flavors and hey no cutting fee! What’s better than that?

Many couples are stirring away from the traditional white cake and moving towards unique replacements. Some unique cake replacements I have seen are chocolate truffles, mini lemon tarts, mini pound cakes, fondue stations, assorted pies, petits fours, candy bars, donuts, and even cookies!

Would you ever venture away from the traditional white cake? If so, what kind and why?

Here are some wedding cakes my fabulous brides have designed for their weddings.

Also, my wonderful friend Radha Champaneria has created some delicious desserts for weddings! How delectable do these look?

I would love to see your dream wedding cake! Upload any of your favorite cakes and tell us why you love them on our Facebook wall!

One..Two..Three..Say Cheese!

Who doesn’t love to get their picture taken - especially with fun props to allow you to be goofy! The must have accessory at any wedding is the photo booth! It’s easy to say that this is the one thing that all of your guests will definitely enjoy: adults, children, and even grandparents!
The best part of having a photo booth is that your guests will not only receive their pictures immediately, but the pictures are also great wedding favors. Another great thing about having a photo booth is that they are extremely personalized with your monogram, the couple’s names and/or the wedding date.
How adorable would it be to see all of the silly pictures your guests took?

Here are some great examples:
Pictures with the wedding date-
A red carpet style photo booth-definitely one of our favorites!
The backdrop: This is seriously so adorable!
Some of our favorites: How cute are they?!
I think our favorite prop is the curly black mustache!
Thank you Tara Arrowood for these cute photographs!
Would you love to have a photo booth at your wedding? What other accessories did you have at your wedding?

We really cannot decide what our favorite part is! Whether it was how Aarti decided to add blue glitter to her henna, her beautiful bridal outfit, or even how the groom lipped "WOW" when his bride came down the aisle at the ceremony! We can say to the least Rasesh's heart melted when he saw his bride.

Punam and Hemil: I Married My Best Friend

There is nothing more precious than marrying your best friend. Not many of us can have the pleasure to say, “I married my best friend.” Needless to say, this lucky couple got the chance to fall in love with each other and became best friends before getting married. The bride couldn't have imagined her wedding any other way.

Hemil and Punam met through mutual friends a very long time ago. They became close friends and over time their friendship grew into love and everything else is well, history.

Fact: It didn't take Punam a long time to find her perfect wedding dress, "I actually got the bridal outfit in India in a store in Mumbai. Found the outfit on my second day out in India. Absolutely fell in love with it." I must say that's extremely impressive because we all know that most brides try on loads of outfits before falling in love with something! Finally, we really thought the locket that Punam wore with her father’s photograph was a beautiful gesture and a great way to include her late father.

Thank you Wedding Documentary for providing these beautiful pictures!

Indo-Chinese Fusion Wedding!

This wedding was one of our most unique weddings! Hapreet and Kevin have come from two complete different backgrounds, but they combined their cultures so perfectly on their wedding day! Harpreet and Kevin met in medical school and decided to have their wedding in San Francisco. This city set the perfect ambiance for them.

Harpreet and Kevin incorporated their cultures in many ways which included a Sikh wedding ceremony, a Chinese Tea ceremony, and even a 10 course dinner at their reception. Their cake was so spectacular because it included square cupcakes and a giant cupcake for the couple to cut! Harpreet and Kevin are the prime example of how our country truly is a melting pot. Everyone may come from different backgrounds, but they showed us that everyone has the ability to combine and become one. Harpreet and Kevin embraced each other’s cultures with open arms and enjoyed every minute.

Special thanks to South Asian Bride Magazine for featuring us! Thank you MDC SF Photography for the great pictures and a special thanks AVL Solutions, LLC for introducing us to our lovely couple!

How much do you love their wedding favors?
Who knew a tea light holder could be so cute?!
